Don’t use templates to achieve an ISO Standard
Ringing in the changes: Re-defining our focus
The Oxford Quality Centre has decided to change its trading name to “Qualitation” (as in QUALITy certificATION) to emphasise a few changes in our focus henceforth.
No, we are not changing our people, our approach or our high level of operation. In our over 17 years of operation we have 100% success at attaining first time certification and accreditation for our clients. We are proud of this record and will continue to ensure that we do everything we can to retain and extend this record.
What we are doing is making ourselves more nationally and intentionally acceptable by:
- Adopting a name that is unique, shorter and easier to use
- Using a name that does not imply we are restricted to one part of England
- Expanding our focus to encompass a full business growth and development theme albeit still based around the ISO standards – their creation, use and iteration
- Developing more modern tools to address client enquiries and to reach out to organisations that have not hitherto considered an ISO standard as a way to move their business forward
- Widening our coverage to organisations outside of the UK
- Creating a more industry focused approach suitable for the client that is looking at ISO standards for the first time
Our network of Qualitators now covers the length and breadth of Great Britain – making us truly the British Quality Centre.
Growing our expertise
Our range of standards covered includes the generic Quality, Environment and Health & Safety as well as the industry specific areas of Aviation, Automotive, Medical Devices and Laboratory Competence and the more complex Data Security and some of the more unknown areas of Traffic Management, Risk Management and Business Continuity. In addition to this we also cover CE marking for medical devices and steel structures, FSC timber chain of control, WEEE handling and more.
In addition to the ISO focus, however, we will be moving more towards the business growth theme as, to our minds, they are so intrinsically linked that to do one without the other is nonsensical – in other words “Quality is integral to growth”. To this end we will be building and growing our expertise to include lean management techniques, 6 Sigma and other growth techniques aimed at driving forward an organisation’s capabilities and accomplishments.
Our panel of experts
We are also pulling together a cadre of partners aimed at enhancing and expanding on the activities that Qualitation offers. This will allow an organisation that wants to move forward to have access to a selection of players in related markets that directly lead from the work they will do with Qualitation and ISO standards.
